Stranded All Night at the Expo?! Takeyama Says Flying Taxis Could’ve Saved the Day!

On August 14, comedian Takeyama Takeyoshi shared his thoughts about the unexpected overnight stay faced by many Expo 2025 visitors. A power system failure late at night caused the subway line connected to the Osaka–Kansai Expo grounds to stop running, leaving countless guests and staff stranded until early the next morning.

Commenting on the situation, Takeyama pointed out how exhausting it must have been after a full day at the event. He emphasized the frustration of being ready to leave but unable to do so, calling it the hardest part. With a touch of humor, he suggested, “If flying taxis had been buzzing overhead—that’d have been perfect. They could have whisked everyone away.”

The much-anticipated launch of flying taxi service at the Expo had been postponed, with only demonstration flights taking place around the venue.
